The School of Economics held a seminar on the revision of 2022 undergraduate talent training program

In order to implement the digital strategy of disciplines and majors, promote the transformation and upgrading of majors, accelerate the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents with digital literacy and digital ability, and form a higher level of talent cultivation model, a meeting on the revision of the 2022 undergraduate talent training program of the School of Economics was held in the morning of June 21 in the conference room of North Comprehensive 806. Professor Zhang Liguo, Dean of the School of Economics, attended the meeting, and Yang Feihu and Li Guomin, heads of departments and staff of Academic Affairs Office attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Hu Delong, Vice President of Teaching and Learning.

Dean Zhang Liguo pointed out that the university recently put forward the goal of building a national first-class digital university of finance and economics, and we should implement the OBE concept to clarify the objectives of professional talent training in the era of digital economy, optimize the curriculum system according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education for the construction of new liberal arts, and focus on digital economic thinking and big data analysis ability. The major of national economic management is a traditional major, but this year we added the direction of digital governance and investment management, which is a bold exploration for the development needs of digital economy. The major of economics is also a traditional major, which requires us to update the curriculum and teaching content to cultivate the ability of innovation and application of economics theory in the context of big data in the digital economy. The major of digital economy should further study and clarify the professional orientation and training objectives, and the knowledge system should help students to recognize and reveal the laws of digital economy development, and the ability system should help students to adapt faster to the new occupations spawned by the digital economy era. Then three general requirements were put forward for the revision of talent training program. Firstly, the teachers of the college should reach a consensus on the ideology and put it into practice in action, offer more high-quality and cutting-edge professional elective courses, build a curriculum system that effectively supports the goal of talent training, eliminate the setting of courses according to the person, and fundamentally guarantee the quality of talent training; secondly, all majors should fully open up their opinions and collect ideas before the revision of the talent training program, and the training program should be highly forward-looking and scientific. Finally, we should summarize the shortcomings and pain points of the college in the process of talent training, make up the shortcomings, focus on improving quality and efficiency, and promote the connotative development of talent training.

Vice President Hu Delong briefly introduced the background and general principles of this undergraduate talent training program revision, and emphasized that the talent training program should be revised according to the national standards of teaching quality in economics and the requirements of the digital economy era.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the objectives of talent training for each major, sorted out the problems in the implementation of talent training programs in recent years and the existing professional curriculum system, discussed in depth and detail the necessity, rationality and innovation of various curriculum settings, and had a fruitful discussion on how to organically integrate digital literacy into the training program.

The meeting pointed out the direction and clarified the ideas for the revision of the undergraduate training program in 2022.
